Getting the PDF into the tool

iOS keeps documents in Files, in Mail attachments, or in apps like WhatsApp. Tapping the file picker in the Sign tool lets you browse all of them, including iCloud Drive, so there is no need to save the attachment somewhere special first.

Drawing a signature that looks right

Sign larger than you think you need. Drawing across most of the width of the pad and then scaling the placed signature down smooths out the wobble that comes from moving a finger slowly. An Apple Pencil on iPad produces the cleanest result of all.

If drawing is not working for you, type your name instead and choose one of the handwriting fonts.

Placing it accurately on a small screen

Pinch to zoom before placing marks so signature lines and checkboxes are large enough to hit precisely. Each mark can be dragged and resized by its corners after placement, so nothing needs to be perfect on the first tap.

Where the file goes

Signing runs inside the browser on your device, so the PDF is not uploaded. The downloaded, flattened copy lands in Files and can be shared straight back to Mail or Messages.
